【New Model】Infiltrate Ti
"Experience the sensation of gentle permeation."
<The Development Story of Infiltrate Ti>
In the spring of 2023, Eric attended the PNWR contest. During this event, he tried various new yo-yos at the vendor booths, as well as the personal collection of other players, and discovered that many new titanium models had been released since his return to modern yo-yoing.
However, after playing with these new titanium models, none had particularly surprising functionality. Eric reflected, "They were all well-made, but there wasn't one that made me go 'Wow!'"
This experience led to the development of the Infiltrate Ti with the intention of creating a truly special titanium model.
<Challenges in the Update>
During the development of the Infiltrate Ti, Eric had the following key requests:
Many of the titanium models Eric tried at PNWR felt too light, with weak spin power. Therefore, his primary concern was weight distribution. He wanted more weight on the rims compared to previous models, while aiming for a weight similar to the 7075 version of Infiltrate.
Additionally, regarding the shape, the classic design of the 7075 Infiltrate was essential for the update. Eric preferred a round shape, which he wanted to maintain. However, the width of the yo-yo was narrower than modern models, which made certain tricks more difficult to execute, despite the comfortable fit in the hand. Eric also requested a slightly wider design for the updated version.
<Performance of Infiltrate Ti>
Compared to the 7075 Infiltrate, the width was increased by about 2mm while maintaining the same weight. This adjustment better meets the needs of modern yo-yo players, offering a larger catch zone for landing difficult tricks.
Below is Eric’s own feedback on the playability of the Infiltrate Ti:
"I think the Infiltrate Ti is the perfect yo-yo for me. It’s incredibly powerful, and every throw feels solid at the end of the string. You can clearly feel which mount you’re on during movement. The spin time is amazing, and after performing a 30-45 second combo, it returns to my hand with the same power as if it was freshly thrown. It’s one of the most stable yo-yos in my collection, handling dense technical tricks and popular horizontal tricks with ease."
<About the Artwork>
For the 7075 Infiltrate, the main logo featured a broken key and a spy (an infiltrator) with two faces, inspired by the meaning of "infiltrate." In addition, the outer ring displayed piano keys, inspired by Eric’s freestyle.
