Heterogeneity / Black

$69.99

The mowl® Ambassador Kenta Kushiro Signature Model, “Heterogeneity,” is a mono-metal yoyo crafted to suit Kenta’s technical string trick style, balancing stability with sharp, precise play.

The latest colorway features three distinct shades of black, a design that oscillates between classic and modern aesthetics, highlighting Heterogeneity’s multifaceted nature.

The name “Heterogeneity”, meaning “diverse mixture,” reflects Kenta’s intent to incorporate previously unexplored styles and tricks, marking his return to competitive stages after some time away.

"Heterogeneity" / Black (White Logo)

The striking white logo on the jet-black body emphasizes both the structural and functional beauty of Heterogeneity. The monochrome palette conveys tension and serenity, making each throw a statement of presence. Its classic design evokes the origins of the series, reminding us of the meaning behind the name Heterogeneity.

・Development Story

In 2021, Kenta Kushiro relocated from Tokyo to Osaka, where mowl is based. This move strengthened the trust between Kenta and mowl, while reigniting his presence in competitive yoyo events.

To support Kenta’s vision, mowl committed as a manufacturer to develop a yoyo that would maximize his potential. Development began immediately, with the project officially starting in summer 2021.

Reassessing Kenta’s playstyle, known for delicate and skillful tricks, the team incorporated elements and tricks previously unseen in his repertoire. To fully harness his abilities, the yoyo needed:

 • flexible maneuverability
 • smooth glide
 • stability and power to handle long combos
 • a solid yet gentle feel at the core

While trends dominate much of the yoyo market, the prototype developed for Kenta diverged entirely from current trends. The result is Heterogeneity, a rare product for mowl: a mono-metal yoyo that combines exhilarating playability, carefully balanced weight with zero stress, and competition-ready performance.

・Artwork Evolution

With the 2nd production lot, the Heterogeneity artwork was updated to further enhance its theme of “heterogeneity – diversity in unity.”

 • 1st Lot: The face prominently featured engraved artwork emphasizing the “angel” motif.

 • 2nd Lot Update: The angel wings were replaced with clouds to reflect the updated theme. A circle logo was added for balance, incorporating hidden “Heterogeneity” text. Within the clouds, both angels and demons were illustrated, adding playful depth to the piece.

The cloud-shaped wings hint at an angel nearby, subtly conveying a personal message. Whether it whispers guidance from an angel or a fallen angel (demon), Heterogeneity becomes a companion that resonates with your lifestyle.
