＜Development＞

mowl’s flagship model, M, was created around the concept of “a Yo-Yo that still feels good to play, even five years later,” and has continued to evolve through ongoing updates.

Within that same lineage, M Light was born not as a simple lightweight version of M, but as a practical lightweight model with its own place in the flagship family — carrying the DNA of the line while offering a more approachable, almost youngest-sibling kind of character.

＜ About the Design＞

What we set out to achieve with M Light was a balance between lightness and a controlled, lingering feel in play.

While it feels light and easy off the throw, it was designed so the play feel carries more substance than its actual 57 g weight might suggest. Even compared with the many Yo-Yos that sit around the 60 g range, there is little sense of compromise in use. That balance of easygoing handling and real practicality is one of M Light’s defining strengths.

It was also designed to reduce physical strain during long sessions, easing the load on the fingers and joints without sacrificing its calm, settled feel in play. Whether as a way to unwind after extended practice or as a Yo-Yo to carry with you every day, M Light is built to fit naturally into daily use.

A Highlight from mowl’s Design Team

Lightweight models can sometimes feel a little too lively in motion, or make tricks appear rougher than intended. To calm that behavior, M Light was designed with a slightly stronger sense of pull. The result is a Yo-Yo that stays light and easy to move, while still making tricks look clean and composed.

It moves lightly, but never looks sloppy. That balance is also one of M Light’s biggest appeals.

M Light carries forward the core feel of M, delivering a light, soft, and comfortable play feel.

At the same time, despite being an ultra-lightweight model, it still offers a solid sense of torque on the throw and enough practical power to return cleanly and confidently on the catch.

Within the flagship M series — a line that has continued to evolve through ongoing updates and refinements — M Light stands out with a lighter spirit and a more playful character. Its main logo reflects that shift, replacing the sharpness and tension of previous designs with an owl wearing a looser, more relaxed expression — as if it has finally exhaled after giving everything it had.

Even the central circle, a defining element of the M series, is intentionally rendered with a slightly uneven look rather than the clean precision of the standard logo. By introducing that same sense of looseness into the finer details, the design expresses the lightness and approachability that define M Light.

＜Release Color＞

For the first lot of M Light, both the Regular Logo and Circle Logo will be available in a choice of three colors.
