Throughout our history, mowl has continued to embrace the latest technologies of each era while constantly challenging ourselves to create something new.
We hope this book gives you a chance to rediscover the history, evolution, and character of mowl.

Each of the first 100 copies features a handwritten serial number on the final page.
A special book made to be kept alongside your favorite yo-yos.
As you turn through the pages, we hope you’ll find a memorable model that brings back your own memories with mowl.
M Wide 10th Anniversary Edition with 10th Anniversary Special Book
To celebrate the release of the mowl®︎ 10th Anniversary Special Book, we created a special version of the 10th anniversary logo introduced this June and reimagined it as exclusive artwork for the M Wide. The result is a balanced design with a dynamic sense of movement.
This limited set includes the 10th Anniversary Special Book and is available at a special set price.
The “10th Anniversary Special Book” is also scheduled to be available separately once additional copies arrive.
The standalone retail price is expected to be USD 19.99, with additional stock scheduled to arrive during October.
Please note: Some M Wide units included in this set may have slight color variations or very minor cosmetic marks that do not affect performance. Unless there is an issue that affects playability, these cosmetic variations are not eligible for return or exchange. If you are particularly concerned about minor cosmetic imperfections, we kindly recommend refraining from purchasing this set.

Introducing the M Wide, a competition-focused model developed from mowl’s flagship M Series.
Built for modern competitive play while preserving the identity of the M Series.

<Development Story>
After opening mowl Osaka in 2024,
mowl producer Eiji Okuyama had the opportunity to see young players improve day by day.
Inspired by players beginning to challenge themselves with freestyle competition,
he approached the design team with the idea of developing
a competition-oriented model at a more accessible price point.
With 7075 aluminum selected as the material — a popular choice among competitive players —
the team developed four prototypes in pursuit of a competition model
that could deliver performance beyond its price point.
-1st / 2nd Prototype-

The first prototype (left) was designed with a relatively large overall body.
For the second prototype (right),
we applied knowledge gained during the development of the M Light to refine the weight distribution,
creating a compact, wide-body design that remained easy to maneuver.
While this improved maneuverability,
there was still room to improve its spin performance and overall weight as a competition model.
-3rd Prototype-

For the third prototype, we further adjusted the weight distribution,
increased the overall weight, and redesigned the catch zone.

At this stage, the prototype had already reached a level of performance strong enough for production.
However, after spending more time testing the feel in actual play,
the added physical weight began to feel overly heavy,
leading us to begin development of a fourth prototype.
-4th Prototype-

For the fourth prototype — the final production version —
we aimed to eliminate the heavy feeling without reducing the actual weight.
Using knowledge gained from the development of the M Ti, we completely refined the weight distribution.
As a result, the M Wide retains some of the familiar character of the original M,
while introducing a feel closer to the M Ti.

The catch-zone shape remained unchanged from the third prototype,
while the internal weight distribution was completely reworked.
The result is a highly balanced model that feels noticeably lighter in motion than its actual weight suggests.
<Play Feel>
The M Wide was designed around the demands of modern competitive play.
Its thick rims reduce the sensation of heaviness during the throw,
creating a play feel closer to that of a bi-metal yo-yo.
Its heavier overall weight provides added stability for tricks on stage,
while offering excellent performance for horizontal tricks and hops.

The special 10th anniversary artwork featured on the M Wide 10th Anniversary Edition is designed as a visual illusion: depending on how you look at it, the central symbol can be seen as “10,” the Japanese kanji “十,” or the Roman numeral “X.”
