<Development Background>
The encounter between Jeffrey Pang, owner of Luftverk, and Eiji Okuyama, founder of mowl®,
dates back to the 2016 European Yo-Yo Championship (EYYC) held in the Czech Republic.
Since then, the two gradually grew closer, meeting once or twice a year at international competitions
and slowly discovering a mutual respect for each other’s craftsmanship and creative philosophy.
A turning point came in October 2022, when Jeffrey visited Japan privately
and made a stop in Osaka to catch up with Eiji.
At that time, Jeffrey was carrying his brand Luftverk’s release, the Plastic Fulvia—
a yo-yo made using a unique process that combined plastic molding with precision CNC machining.
This distinctive production method left a strong impression on Eiji.
In June 2023, Jeffrey relocated to Osaka for a year,
and as the two spent more time together, the idea naturally emerged:
"What if we rebuilt mowl's flagship model 'M' using the same structure as the Plastic Fulvia?"
This conversation became the starting point for what would grow into a full-fledged collaboration project.

<About the Performance of “Plastic M”>
"Plastic M" is a special collaboration piece that combines the flagship model “M” from mowl® with Jeffrey Pang’s unique design philosophy.
-High Level of Stability-
Unlike typical plastic yo-yos that are mass-produced using only injection molds,
the Plastic M is machined with high precision using CNC lathes from polycarbonate material embedded with metal nuts.
This process delivers a level of stability and accuracy that sets it apart from conventional plastic models.
- Preserved Feel and Shape -
The design inherits the signature H-profile shape of our flagship model “M,”
while also capturing the smooth, familiar feel that players have cherished over the years.
- Responsiveness and Trick Compatibility -
Compared to the 6061 M, it features a larger diameter and width, offering a wide profile that aligns with modern yo-yo trends.
It delivers a solid sense of weight on the throw, while maintaining quick responsiveness during play.
Highly suited for dynamic hop-style tricks and intricate influent-style combos,
Plastic M is a versatile model designed to meet the needs of both beginners and advanced players alike.
<About graphic work>
In the initial production run, we paid tribute to Luftverk’s minimalist design philosophy by adopting a simple and refined visual aesthetic.
Each yo-yo is individually numbered on the side face, adding a collectible element to the release.
<About Jeffrey Pang, Owner of Luftverk>
Jeffrey Pang's yo-yo brand, Luftverk, is known for its deep commitment to precision craftsmanship.
Since the mid-2010s, he has consistently taken on the challenge of working with titanium—a material that was considered difficult to process and uncommon in the yo-yo industry at the time.
Since then, he has released a series of high-quality yo-yos that blend engineering with artistic sensibility.
His collaboration models with CLYW also drew widespread attention, earning him recognition from players and collectors around the world.
Even today, he continues to innovate—producing yo-yos by machining injection-molded polycarbonate with high-precision lathes, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in modern yo-yo design.
