Round One "Type-2"

Released in June this year to celebrate mowl®’s 9th anniversary, the Round One Type-1 was warmly received as an all-round beginner yo-yo designed to suit anyone.

Following the success of Type-1, our development team began discussions on the direction for the second model in the series, the Type-2.

While the Type-1 is defined by its versatile performance and classic shape, the concept behind the Type-2 was to create a modern beginner model specialized for string tricks.

Designed to help players smoothly transition from responsive beginner models to bind-return yo-yos, the Type-2 was developed based on the shape of mowl’s entry-level M model.

Compared to the Type-1, the Type-2 features a significantly wider profile, greatly improving the success rate of string hits.

By inheriting the distinctive H-profile shape of the M, the Type-2 offers an iconic yet soft and comfortable feel, even as a responsive model.

Unlike the Type-1, the Round One Type-2 features acrylic caps.

While the Type-1’s caps offered a matte finish, the Type-2 stands out with a glossy, high-shine look that enhances its presence.

We hope the Round One Type-2 will inspire players to take their first step into the world of string tricks.

Release Information

Sales will begin on Friday, September 19, 2025, starting at mowl Osaka, followed by the mowl Online Store and mowl Partner Shops.

Important Notes for Purchase

Please avoid storing the yo-yo in high-temperature environments, such as under direct sunlight or inside a hot car for extended periods. Exposure to heat may cause the shape to deform or affect play performance.

The Round One Type-2 is designed as a model that allows for a smooth transition into 1A play. However, it does not offer the same level of precision as competition-grade metal models, as it was developed specifically as a beginner yo-yo.
As a result, some users may notice slight vibration during play. If even minor vibration is a concern, we kindly recommend refraining from purchasing this model.

The name “Round One” carries the meaning of “the first round = the first challenge.”
