"Round One"

This year marks the 9th anniversary of mowl®, and in November of last year we opened our first flagship store, mowl Osaka.
As our brand and activities have grown, we have slowly but surely become part of the local community here in Osaka.

Since establishing Osaka as our home base, we’ve received many opportunities to participate in events outside the yo-yo industry.
However, we often had to decline for one simple reason:

We didn’t have a yo-yo suitable for beginners.

At mowl®-hosted events, we improvised by adding plenty of oil to our aluminum competition yo-yos to convert them into responsive setups.
But the handling difficulty and frequent maintenance made this far from ideal, and we continued to struggle with the same challenge.

“Round One” is mowl®’s first true beginner-focused yo-yo—
a model created through nine years of experience and countless encounters with new players, each shaping our understanding of what a first yo-yo should be.

A Yo-Yo That Stays Close to “First Steps”

Round One is a beginner-friendly yo-yo produced using 3D printing.

While mass production with a metal mold would normally be the standard approach, we chose 3D printing so we could closely observe and interact with children and new players, better understanding what they truly need from a first yo-yo.

The flexibility of 3D printing allows us to adjust the shape and specifications as needed, letting us refine the design so it can fully support those important early steps.

Round One uses a non-standard bearing size to achieve smoother spin and improved ease of use.
It also comes equipped with D-size response pads for consistent, beginner-friendly responsiveness.

The name “Round One” represents your first round—your first challenge.
It also reflects the nature of a yo-yo itself: something that is round and spins.

Creating a beginner model has been a long-held dream and major goal for mowl®.
We hope that Round One brings confidence and enjoyment to anyone who wants to begin their yo-yo journey.

And we sincerely hope it becomes the starting point of a brand-new yo-yo life.
