- A Floating Sensation, Like Dancing on Air -

The Aerodynex series, the signature model of mowl Ambassador Hayato Itani, welcomes its latest evolution: the Aerodynex PC model "Aero".

This new addition combines the signature performance of the Aerodynex series with a lightweight polycarbonate body and midship rims, offering a fresh and dynamic play experience. Stay tuned to discover how Aero redefines the balance of agility and precision.

The Aerodynex series, designed as a competition-focused signature model, strongly supports Hayato Itani's aggressive play style. In August 2023, during the World Contest, the series debuted with a full titanium body release.

The Aerodynex Ti was meticulously developed through extensive trial and error, exploring both materials and structural design from the ground up. This process resulted in six prototype configurations: two monometal, two bimetal, and three titanium variants. Among mowl’s product lineup, the Aerodynex Ti stands out as an exceptionally competition-focused model, even making its debut on stage during the 2023 World Contest, used by Hayato Itani himself.

In November of the same year, Hayato’s wish to make his signature model accessible to more players came to fruition with the release of the Aerodynex Monometal. Designed to be a more affordable option without compromising on competition-level specs, this model offers an easy-to-play experience suitable for a wide range of players.

The newly released Aero, a derivative model of the Aerodynex series, features minimal numerical weight changes compared to the original Aerodynex. However, with its polycarbonate body and midship rims, it achieves a perfect balance of agility and a commanding presence, delivering a uniquely refined yo-yo experience.

The name "Aerodynex" is a fusion of the elements "Aero" and "Dynamics," embodying the series' concept. Among the lineup, the Aerodynex PC model stands out with its uniquely airy feel, offering a fresh experience unlike any previous Aerodynex models. Its smooth, stress-free maneuverability, reminiscent of the effortless flow of wind, inspired the name "Aero."

ABOUT ARTWORK

The artwork for Aerodynex was inspired by the sun, a motif closely tied to Hayato's favorite model, the mowl Nocturnal. For the new Aero, we took a different approach, focusing on the concept of "wind-like maneuverability" to reflect its distinctive feel and design.

This theme aligns with Hayato’s name, which includes the character for "wind," and also stems from his early request to incorporate wind elements into the Aerodynex artwork.

Unlike the metal-bodied Aerodynex series, which exudes a sense of weight and power, the Aero features a polycarbonate body with midship rims, lending it a lighter and more agile style. While retaining the signature sun motif of the Aerodynex series, Aero introduces a fresh visual identity by incorporating artwork on the rims, offering a unique aesthetic that sets it apart from its predecessors.

Designed by KALON DESIGN STUDIO, this evolution of the Aerodynex series delivers a harmonious balance of familiarity and innovation, capturing the essence of both models.

About Hayato Itani

Hayato Itani - 井谷 颯杜 -

Date of Birth: June 2, 2003
Hometown: Born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, raised in Nagoya
Play Style: 1A - Single Hand -

In 2016, Hayato began his yo-yo journey, inspired by the Hyper Yo-Yo series. A visit to Yo-Yo Shop NEST in Nagoya left a lasting impression on him when he saw professional competitive yo-yoing for the first time.

In 2017, he won the Beginner Division at the Central Japan Regional Contest (CJ). The thrill of that experience drew him deeply into the competitive yo-yo scene.

During the winter of 2018, Hayato discovered mowl at a Pop-Up Store held at NEST. He won a mowl M in a one-minute freestyle contest and started using it regularly.

His consistent social media posts showcasing his performances with the M caught the attention of mowl's producer, Mr. Okuyama, at the 2018 Japan National Yo-Yo Contest (JN). To Hayato’s surprise, he was presented with a Surveillance yo-yo along with the words, “From today, you’re a mowl apprentice!”

With Eiji Okuyama's support over the next four years, Hayato achieved notable milestones, including placing 3rd at the 2022 Southern Japan Regional Contest (SJ) and advancing as the top semi-finalist at the 2022 JN. In June 2022, he officially joined as a mowl Ambassador.

In 2023, Hayato once again advanced as the top semi-finalist at JN, finishing 12th in the finals of the highly competitive 1A division at the World Contest. Currently, he is preparing for the 2024 World Contest while actively promoting "cool yo-yos" through practice sessions, events, and his blog. His passion for yo-yoing continues to inspire and engage the community.
