Q / Nightfall
Diameter(直径): 54.9 mm
Width(横幅): 46.9 mm
Weight(重量): 63.7 ± 0.5 grams

A deep, quiet dark navy reminiscent of the moment night falls.

With a near-black weight and just a subtle hint of blue beneath the surface, it shifts in character depending on the angle of light.

A refined, understated color for those who prefer their statement to be subtle.

<Development Story>

In the summer of 2025, five years after its original release,
a proposal was raised to reinterpret and reconstruct Q through a modern lens.

Without compromising Q’s defining characteristic—its exceptional comfort in play—
the goal was to pursue an even more refined and evolved sense of feel.

The result is the new Q, now ready for release.

The Essential Comfort of “Q”

When it was first released in 2020, the original Q featured a slightly larger, rounded profile,
designed as what we would now describe as a casual, easygoing yo-yo.

The reason Q was able to earn a feel that remained loved for so many years lies in its carefully engineered weight distribution.

It was this balance design that defined the long-lasting comfort of the original Q.

In yo-yo design, spin power is one of the most critical factors.
However, pursuing greater spin often comes with trade-offs—
increased weight, a stronger physical presence, and a tendency to cause fatigue over longer sessions.

With this in mind, Q was engineered to achieve a precise balance in spin performance—
not too strong, not too weak, but exactly where it needs to be.

Rather than simply increasing weight to gain spin,
Q maintains a lighter overall feel while carefully adjusting its weight distribution to ensure sufficient rotational stability.

The result is a yo-yo that feels light in hand, yet delivers more than enough spin—
a balance that defines Q’s signature comfort.

New Q vs. Original Q

The new Q retains the core character of the original while being redesigned for today’s players, emerging as a model that stands apart from any other mowl product.

While preserving the signature comfort of the original Q, the width has been increased by 1.2 mm, improving string catch and overall stability.
In addition, the internal balance has been refined to help maintain rotational momentum, resulting in a smoother, longer-lasting spin.

At first glance, it still looks unmistakably like Q.
However, compared to the original, the profile is slightly rounder, and the diameter has been reduced from 57 mm to 55 mm, shifting it from a full-size feel to a slightly more compact mid-size form.

With the updated weight distribution, the rim has also been made subtly thicker than the original, further supporting stability without sacrificing comfort.

Highlights from the mowl Design Team

To preserve Q’s DNA, the design from the bearing seat around the axle through to the edge has been carried over directly from the original Q.

At first glance, the differences may be hard to spot—
so we encourage you to look closely and appreciate the fine details and deliberate choices throughout the design.

Performance & Feel

A rare balance of supreme comfort and reliable spin performance.

From the moment of release to the catch, Q delivers a soft, fluid feel that remains consistent throughout the entire throw.
It feels light and effortless on the throw, and settles gently into the hand on the catch—making it comfortable even during extended sessions.

What makes this even more impressive is that this comfort comes without sacrificing rotational strength.
Q maintains a steady, slightly “sticky” spin that resists slowing down, providing reliable stability even into the later stages of a trick.

With the reduced diameter compared to the original, the throw now feels even cleaner and more direct,
eliminating unnecessary resistance for a smooth, stress-free experience.

Comfort and spin.
Two elements that often work against each other—brought together here in a highly refined design.
